The lefthanded reliever was originally drafted by the Astros in 1987 and made his debut with Houston in 1990. He pitched in four seasons with the Astros, compiling a 16-10 record with 14 saves and a 3.75 ERA in 193 games. Traded to the Dodgers before the 1994 season, he later pitched for the Padres to close out his big league career. Overall, he had an 18-10 record with a 3.83 ERA.
