The young Venezuelan had already been kicked around by four organizations before the Astros took a chance on him before the 2009 Season. He spent much of the year at AAA Round Rock where he was leading the Pacific Coast League in wins before he was called up. In 10 games, he posted a 1-3 record with a 7.88 ERA but there is enough talent there to expect progress for next season.
