Oct 31, 1968:Ed Taubensee is born in Beeville, TX. The big lefthanded hitting catcher splits time behind the plate with Scott Servais during his two seasons as an Astro before he is dealt to the Reds.
Dec 10, 1991:Outfielder Kenny Lofton is traded to the Cleveland Indians for catcher Ed Taubensee. While Taubensee becomes an adequate receiver, Lofton becomes one of the top players of the decade. In a separate deal, Houston also sends infielder Dave Rhode to Cleveland for righthander Willie Blair.
Apr 13, 1993:Houston erupts for seven runs in the eighth to master the Expos, 9-6. Eddie Taubensee's two-run homer is the big blow in the uprising.
