Jan 18, 1979:Wandy Rodriguez is born in Santiago, D.R. The lefthander has an 80-84 record with a 4.04 ERA in eight seasons (2005-2012) as an Astro, ranking him tenth on the franchise win list at the time of his trade to Pittsburgh.
Apr 5, 2006:Craig Biggio adds to his illustrious credentials in a 6-5 triumph over the Marlins. His first-inning double gives him 606 in his career to become tenth all-time in that category. Later, he scores his 1700th run, 24th all-time in that department. He is two hits shy of the 2800 plateau. Lance Berkman and Preston Wilson supply the muscle with two-run homers to support Wandy Rodriguez.
Sep 20, 2007:J.R. Towles, a catcher playing in his sixth major league game, claims the franchise record with eight RBIs in an 18-1 demolition of the Cardinals, setting the largest winning margin in club history.
