Jun 14, 1966:19-Year-old Larry Dierker outduels Hall-of-Famer Sandy Koufax for a 3-0 whitewash of the Dodgers. Dierker surrenders just five hits. A two-run single by Chuck Harrison and a solo shot by Bob Aspromonte supply the offense.
Sep 16, 1966:Sonny Jackson goes 5-for-5 and Chuck Harrison belts a grand slam as the Astros break nemesis Chris Short and the Phillies, 6-4. Mike Cuellar tosses his sixth straight complete game.
Sep 27, 1967:Mike Cuellar defeats Philadelphia's Jim Bunning in a 1-0 duel that lasts eleven innings. Chuck Harrison plates Rusty Staub with the game-winner. Cuellar fans a dozen and allows just six hits while becoming the first 16-game winner in franchise history.
Oct 8, 1967:Infielders Sonny Jackson and Chuck Harrison are dealt to the Braves for lefthander Denny Lemaster and infielder Denis Menke. It turns into a good deal as Menke becomes a two-time All-Star while Lemaster wins 30 games and saves six in four seasons for Houston.
