Feb 20, 1959:Bill Gullickson is born in Marshall, MN. The righthander goes 10-14 as a Houston starter in 1990, part of his 14 big league seasons but he is gone to Detroit the next year as the Astros tighten their belts.
Dec 6, 1989:Astros ink pitcher Bill Gullickson and infielder Ken Oberkfell to contracts. Gullickson would spend one year in Houston. Oberkfell would spend two, batting .214 as a reserve.
May 23, 1990:Astros set a club record by stealing eight bases in a 7-3 victory over Pittsburgh. Eric Yelding swipes half of them. Casey Candaele adds two thefts while Bill Doran and Ken Caminiti join the parade. Juan Agosto wins in relief of Bill Gullickson.
