A lefthanded reliever is a vagabond's life and New Jersey-born Ron Villone is an illustration of this. Through 2009, he has pitched for a dozen big league teams, compiling a 61-65 record with eight saves and a 4.73 ERA.
He came to Houston during the 2001 season in a trade with Colorado. Villone had a 5-7 record with a 5.56 ERA. After pitching for Pittsburgh and Arizona, he returned to Houston and was pushed into the starter's role after injuries had decimated the pitching staff. In 19 starts, he posted a 6-6 mark with a 4.13 ERA. For his two seasons as an Astro, his combined mark was 11-13 with a 4.69 ERA.
