The New York native first came up with the San Francisco Giants and got into 39 games in 1958. Three years later, Taussig resurfaced with the Cardinals and hit .287 in 98 games. Then he was taken in the expansion draft by the Colt .45s and hit .200 in 16 games with Houston. That was the extent of his big league career. Overall, he hit .262 with four homers during his three partial seasons in the majors.
