Darragh Dean Stone was a lefthander who had thrown for the Senators, Red Sox and Cardinals during the 1950s and got another shot at the majors in 1962 when he was drafted by Houston before their inaugural season.
The southpaw dazzled the Cubs in his first start with the Colt .45s but was traded in mid-season to the White Sox after producing a 3-2 record in 15 games. He spent his final big league season in Baltimore, culminating a 29-39 career with a 4.47 ERA, 19 complete games and a dozen saves.
Stone died in Moline, IL, on August 21, 2018, after a lengthy illness.
