A native of Yuba City, CA, catcher Max Robert Stassi was drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 amateur draft by the Oakland Athletics.

While he was still in the minors in 2013, the A's traded Max, along with Chris Carter and Brad Peacock, for Jed Lowrie and Fernando Rodriguez. He made his major league debut for the Astros on August 20 of that year. Stassi got his first major-league RBI the next day when he took a bases-loaded plunk to the face, and hit his first major-league homer on September 19, 2015.

So far, Max has seen mostly brief call-ups to the big club.
