Nicknamed "Suitcase" Simpson, Richard Charles Simpson lived up to the moniker. He came up with the Angels in 1962 as an 18-year-old but when his big league career was done by 1969, he'd been with seven organizations in seven years, once getting traded twice in the space of seven days.
Simpson played for the Angels, Reds, Cardinals, Astros, Yankees and Pilots. For the Astros in 1968, he hit .186 with three homers in 59 games. Overall, the outfielder batted .207 with 15 homers.
