A third-round pick of the Astros in 1971, Siebert came up to the big leagues in 1974 at the age of 21. The lefthander pitched in parts of three seasons with Houston, compiling a 1-5 record with one shutout, two saves and a 3.25 ERA. After a trade, he split the 1977 season between the Padres and the Mets then was sent to the Cardinals after the 1978 season.

For his career, Siebert registered a 3-8 record with three saves and a 3.77 ERA.
