A light-tossing lefty, the 24th-round draft choice debuted with the Astros in 2002 and posted an unimpressive 0-2 mark in 11 games with a 6.52 ERA. The next season, he wound up in the starting rotation and managed an impressive 15-9 record despite a 5.10 ERA. Sensing his trade value may never be higher and needing to make room for Andy Pettitte and Roger Clemens in the starting rotation, the Astros dealt Robertson to Cleveland for Luke Scott just before the end of spring training. Robertson gave the Indians a 1-1 record and a 12.21 ERA in eight games before being sent to the minors.

He tried to catch on with the Expos, Reds and Mets but never returned to the majors. For his career, Robertson's record was 16-12 with a 5.71 ERA, all but one of those wins in one magical season.

Robertson was killed in a motorcycle accident in his hometown of Exeter, CA on May 29, 2010.
