A 20th round draft choice of the Astros in 1997, Redding dazzled with his potential but never seemed to put it all together. He made his debut with the Astros in 2001 and compiled a 21-28 record in four seasons with Houston. Dealt to the Padres in the spring of 2005, Redding has hopped from there to the Yankees, Nationals and Mets and is still hoping for another chance in the majors. Through 2009, his record is 37-57 with a 4.95 ERA in eight seasons.
