Outfielder Josh Reddick signed a four-year, $52 million free agent contract to join the Astros in 2017. Reddick spent five seasons with the Oakland Athletics before being dealt to the Dodgers at the 2016 trade deadline. During his time in Oakland, Reddick developed a reputation as an outstanding defensive right-fielder with decent power from the left side of the plate.
An extrovert who loves to interact with fans, the veteran outfielder hit .314 and drove in 82 runs in his first year with the Astros. A huge wrestling fan, Reddick had a "player of the game" belt fashioned in the style of a wrestling championship belt as a way of further uniting an already tight-knit group that would go on to win Houston's first World Series title.
