For a time, the shortstop held the franchise record for most RBIs in one game. He drove in seven runs in Chicago during a 10-9 loss to the Cubs on April 29, 1989. Pete Incaviglia and Jeff Bagwell later tied the record which stood until 2007 when J.R. Towles drove in eight in one game.
