Adalberto Peña was a reserve shortstop in the 1980s who couldn't crack the starting lineup of the Astros and become a regular. The Puerto Rican signed in 1977 and debuted with Houston in 1981, going 1-for-2. He never appeared in more than 24 games a season in the big leagues, even though he played in six seasons. Overall, he batted .203 with one homer in 88 career games. Peña paased away in his native Puerto Rico on January 19, 2023. He was 63 years old. |
