Six-foot-seven-inch right-hander David Paulino was acquired from the Detroit Tigers organization in the 2013 trade that sent Jose Veras to the Motor City. Injuries in the Astros' starting rotation led to what was perhaps a premature call-up in September of 2016. The 22-year-old went 0-1 with a 5.14 ERA in three big league appearances. Paulino was saddled with the loss in his lone start, a three-inning effort that was marred by the infamous "two-run wild pitch" that was actually a foul ball.
