A versatile infielder with the Cardinals, Braves, Pirates, Giants, Astros and Angels over a 16-year career, Oberkfell hit .214 in two seasons with Houston (1990-1991). He was a career .278 hitter with 29 homers. His career highlights were winning the Worlds Championship with the 1982 Cardinals and breaking up Mike Scott's no-hit bid against the Braves on June 12, 1988 with two outs in the top of the ninth. |
