The Bronx, NY native showed great promise when he came up as a rookie with the Red Sox in 1969 and produced a 12-2 record with a 3.11 ERA at age 21. Injuries struck, though, and Nagy lasted just five more seasons in the bigs. His final year was 1974 with the Astros when he appeared in nine games, earning a 1-1 record with an 8.53 ERA. For his career, Nagy registered a 20-13 mark with 11 complete games and a 4.15 ERA.
