Houston was the last major league stop for Ohio-born Mlicki (pron: Muh-LICK-ey) in a ten-year career that had stops with the Indians, Mets, Dodgers, Tigers and Astros. His career year was undoubtedly 1999 when he won 14 games for the Tigers and the journeyman parlayed that into a nice contract for his final years.
The Astros acquired him in 2001 for Jose Lima who had lost his mojo after moving to Enron Field and desperately needed a change of scenery. Mlicki was 11-13 with a 5.21 ERA while in Houston for 2001-2002. For his career, Mlicki compiled a 66-80 mark with a 4.72 ERA and six complete games.
