Born: May 29, 1973
Like a lot of lefthanded relief specialists, the Kentucky native has had a vagabond existence in the majors. That includes two tours with the Astros. In his first trip (1998-99), Miller helped the Astros to two division title, earning a 5-2 record with a 4.02 ERA and two saves. Before the 2000 season, he was dealt to Phillies for fellow lefty vagabond, Yorkis Perez.
Miller returned to the Astros in 2006 as a free agent and stayed for two seasons. In his second run, he earned a 2-3 record with a 3.90 ERA and two saves before leaving in free agency to Tampa Bay.
Through 2009, Miller has pitched 11 years in the big leagues and has registered an 18-15 record in relief with a 4.21 ERA and ten saves.
