The Michigan native spent five seasons in Milwaukee before he kicked around the final three years of his big league career with the Cubs, Mariners, Astros and Diamondbacks. Mieske was acquired by Houston in June of the 1999 season and hit .284 with five homers playing mostly as a reserve. In 2000, he hit .173 in 62 games before he was released in August. Combined, Mieske batted hit .237 as an Astro and .262 for his full career.
