A former first-round pick of the Cardinals, Lindeman found his niche as a pinch-hitter and reserve first baseman. Signed by the Astros in 1993, Lindeman appeared in nine games and hit .348 with seven hits and eight strikeouts. The next year, he played for the Mets in his final big league season.

Overall, he hit .244 with 21 homers in a nine-season career.
