The righthander from New York kicked around with the Pirates and Red Sox before spending part of 1965 with the newly-named Astros. In three games, he posted an 0-2 record with a 4.26 ERA.

Lamabe continued his career with the White Sox, Mets, Cardinals and Cubs. In seven total seasons, he compiled a 33-41 mark with 15 saves and a 4.24 ERA.

Lamabe passed away in Baton Rouge, LA on December 21, 2007 at age 71.
