A steady glove at shortstop, the New Jersey-born Kasko played two seasons with St. Louis and five with Cincinnati before he was traded to the Colt .45s before the 1964 season. The bespectacled infielder hit .244 with one homer over the next two seasons.
He was swapped to the Red Sox just before the 1966 season for Felix Mantilla. Over his full 10-year career, Kasko hit .264 with 22 homers. He made two All-Star teams while with the Reds and hit .318 during the 1961 World Series.
