Born: Jan 19, 1971
A first-round pick by the Astros in 1989, Juden had expectations as large as his 6-8, 265-pound frame but he was never able to put it all together despite eight seasons in the majors.
He got his first look in the bigs at the tender age of 20 and was 0-3 in brief call-ups with the Astros before he was traded to Philadelphia in the trade that sent Doug Jones to the Phillies for Mitch Williams.
He kicked around with the Phils, Giants, Expos, Indians, Brewers, Angels and Yankees. 1997 was his career year when he went 11-5 with the Expos, giving some hope that he had turned a corner.
Over his full career, Juden had a 27-32 record with a 4.81 ERA.
