The lefthander from Brooklyn, NY was a 23rd-round draft pick by the Astros in 1994. He made his debut with Houston in 1998 and made six starts, posting a 1-1 record with a 5.85 ERA. In July, he was dealt to Seattle along with two other players for pitching great Randy Johnson.

Halama continued his career with the Mariners, Athletics, Devil Rays, Red Sox and Nationals. For his career, he had a 56-48 record and a 4.65 ERA over nine seasons.
