The Massachussetts native pitched for the Cardinals, Reds, Twins, Yankees, White Sox and Expos as well as the Astros in 1975. That year, he appeared in 55 games with a 2-5 record, five saves and a 3.65 ERA.

Granger played one more season in the majors before he retired. Overall, he compiled a 35-35 record with 108 saves and a 3.14 ERA in nine seasons.
