A utility infielder, Ginter was a 10th round draft pick for Houston in 1998. Two years later, he first appeared with the Astros and the Texas Tech alum played for Houston until the trade deadline of 2002 when he was sent to Milwaukee in a deal that brought Mark Loretta to Houston.

While an Astro, Ginter played 13 games and hit .214 with one homer. He continued his career with the Brewers and Athletics. Overall, he earned a .243 average.
