Steve Finley was one of three future stars acquired from Baltimore before the 1991 season for slugger Glenn Davis. Although the trade was initially reviled by fans, Finley immediately became a fan favorite with his impressive defense in center field and his daring on the basepaths.
Finley played four seasons for Houston before being shipped in San Diego with Ken Caminiti. It was one of the worst trades in franchise history. Finley peaked with Houston came in 1992 when he batted .292 and stole 44 bases. But, like Caminiti, Finley's offense exploded in San Diego while he simultaneously started winning Gold Gloves. A 30-homer threat after leaving Houston, Finley was a key member of Arizona's 2001 World Championship season.
