A native of Oldenburg, TX, the righthander was signed originally by the Milwaukee Braves and spent parts of two seasons with them before he was sold to the Mets. The Astros claimed him in the minor league draft and he spent one season pitching for Houston. In 1967, he was 6-4 with one save and a 3.94 ERA in 35 games. That was his most productive big league season but also his last.
