The Astros drafted Mike "The Hit Man" Easler in the sixth round of the 1969 amateur draft, but because of his weak defensive skills, he would languish in the minor leagues for a decade.
He played with the "We Are Family" 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates, the World Series champions that year, alongside Hall-of-Famer Willie Stargell, and made the NL All-Star Team the following year in his own right.
Easler would later see service with the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, and Yankees again before hanging up his spikes for good after the 1987 season.
He later coached with the Brewers and the Red Sox.
