Hyun Choi "Hank" Conger was selected in the first round (25th overall) of the 2006 amateur draft by the Los Angeles Angels. He was chosen to represent the U.S. in the 2010 All-Star Futures Game, where he hit a three-run homer and was named MVP.

He played with the Angels from 2010 to 2014, slashing .224/.294/.353 with 17 HR and 71 RBI.

Traded to the Astros during the offseason before the 2015 season, he was brought in as a backup to catcher Jason Castro.
