A former first-round pick of the Cleveland Indians, Clark also played for the Cubs, Royals, Pirates and Dodgers before making Houston his last big league stop. Signed mostly as a lefthanded pinch-hitter, Clark batted .206 in 93 games with the Astros as they won the National League Central title in 1998.
He turned to coaching and managing, working his way back to the big leagues in 2009 where he spent 13 games as interim manager for the Astros (4-9) after the firing of Cecil Cooper. He continues to work in the Houston organization.
