The lefty reliever from the University of Mississippi tossed three seasons with the Astros, posting a 3-6 record with a 2.64 ERA and four saves. He also pitched an inning and gave up a run in the 1986 NLCS against the Mets.
He tossed 45 games with the Phillies after he left Houston and registered a 3-1 record and a 2.20 ERA.
Calhoun retired in 1988 and now serves on the ministry staff of Second Baptist Church in Houston, and is a pitching coach for the high school baseball team there.
