A versatile and talented utility player, Bruntlett played five years with the Astros, hitting .250 with nine homers. His biggest highlight with Houston was starting a double play on a grounder from St. Louis' John Mabry to win Game 4 of the 2005 NLCS at Minute Maid Park.

Traded to Philadelphia after the 2007 season, Bruntlett was a solid player during the World Championship run of the 2008 Phillies. He also turned an unassisted triple play against the Mets in 2009. Through that season, he has a .231 career average with 11 homers.
