A first-round pick of the Astros in 1986, the highly-touted Bowen posted a 6-11 record with a 7.01 ERA during parts of two seasons before he was drafted in the 1993 expansion draft where he was claimed by the Florida Marlins. The Californian posted an 11-17 record with Florida during his final three years of his stint in the majors.
