Light-hitting shortstop Buddy Biancalana was the butt of jokes from late night comedian David Letterman during his career with the Kansas City Royals which included an appearance in the 1985 World Series.

He joined the Astros in a trade deadline deal during the 1987 season for former top prospect Mel Stottlemyre Jr. Biancalana hit .042 in 18 games before being released after the season, his last in the big leagues.
