Born: Mar 5, 1979
A native of Ontario, Canada, Erik Bedard was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the sixth round of the 1999 amateur draft.
By 2004 he had a regular job as a starter on the Orioles' pitching staff with a respectable 40-34 record and 3.83 ERA over five seasons. After that he went free agent, with stops in Seattle, Boston, and Pittsburgh as his ERA started to balloon.
Houston signed him for 2013 where he turned in a lackluster performance with a 4-12 record and an ERA of 4.59 in 26 starts.
He made one more stop in Tampa Bay in 2014 before hanging up his spikes. For his 11-year MLB career, Bedard posted a 71-82 record with a 3.99 ERA.
