A strong-armed Dominican righthander, Astacio spent 15 seasons in the major leagues including two months with the Astros in 2001. As a trade deadline acquisition, the former Dodger and Rockie developed arm trouble and made just four starts during the pennant race. After the season, he was granted free agency.

From there, Astacio spent time with the Mets, Red Sox, Rangers, Padres and Nationals until his last big league appearance in 2006.
