Andrews was a highly-sought product of the Baltimore farm system when the Astros acquired him before the 1975 season. He had a good glove but his bat never made the adjustment to major league pitching, hitting .249 with no homers in two seasons before being traded to San Francisco where he spent the remaining three seasons of his big league career. The "throw-in" to the deal with the Orioles was more successful with Houston. That player was versatile infielder Enos Cabell, a key member of the 1980 NL West Division champs. |
