So much for an undefeated season.

Doug Fister allowed just one run over five innings Friday night in Arlington while the Astros could do little with four Ranger relievers in a 5-1 Houston defeat. Dallas Keuchel, who had a very productive spring, stumbled out of the gate allowing seven hits and three runs over six innings.

Joe Smith, in his Houston debut, gave up a pair of runs in the seventh while Hector Rondon, the other free agent reliever, tossed a scoreless eighth in his Astros premiere.

Nomar Mazara got the scoring started with a solo homer off Keuchel in the second. A pair of sacrifice flies plated two more Ranger runs in the fourth. Shin-Soo Choo had three of Arlington's ten hits. Houston's only run came on doubles by Evan Gattis and Max Stassi in the fifth.

The two teams duel again in a late Saturday start. Lance McCullers will toe the rubber for the Astros against lefthanded veteran Matt Moore who was 6-15 with the Giants last year. The first pitch will be at 4:05 pm Central time.
