Houston's young hitters were dazzled by R.A. Dickey's knuckleball for 6+ innings on Thursday while New York Met hitters spent a lot of time just watching Wandy Rodriguez in an 8-2 Astros loss.

Rodriguez gave up a leadoff homer to Ruben Tejada on his way to giving up four runs and six hits in 3-2/3rds innings. He walked five including two with the bases full. Rhimer Cruz and Brett Myers kept the Mets at bay until they teed off on Sergio Escalona for their lastl four runs in the seventh.

Meanwhile, Dickey allowed just one hit, a single by pinch-hitter Justin Ruggiano in the seventh to break up the no-hit bid. A bouncer by Angel Sanchez plated Jose Altuve who walked just ahead of the hit. Ruggiano doubled in the ninth to get half of Houston's total output. Scott Moore drove home Brad Snyder for the final tally.

Bud Norris will toss Friday against the Nationals in a 12:05 Central contest. Houston now stands at 9-9 in grapefruit action.
