(c) Houston Astros
Folks in the Northeast have heard of Snyder's of Hanover but the New York Mets were fed a diet of Snyders of Houston on Tuesday and choked on a 4-1 loss to the Astros in Kissimmee. Outfielder Brad Snyder drilled a two-run homer off Met starter Chris Scwinden after an error put catcher Chris Snyder aboard in the second.

Chris Snyder followed up with a solo shot in the fourth off Fernando Cabrera, his second homer of the spring.

Houston's first run came in the opening inning when Jason Bourgeois led off with a double and eventually scored when Carlos Lee, making his first spring training start, bounced into a force out. The Astros had nine hits, all by different batters.

Wandy Rodriguez, often a slow starter, looked sharp in his spring debut, working three innings and facing just ten batters. He gave up one hit, The Mets were limited to just five on the afternoon.

Bud Norris will get his first spring start on Wednesday in Clearwater against the Philadelphia Phillies. The first pitch should be 12:05 Central time.
