Shuck: Three hits pace offense

Brett Myers has now won more games in September than he did in the previous five months combined. Carlos Lee has not driven in more runs in September than the previous five months combined - it only seems that way.
Lee drove in four runs for the second straight night while Myers won his fourth game of the month to give him seven on the season as Houston toppled Colorado, 11-2, sending the Rockies to their ninth straight defeat.
J.B. Shuck and J.D. Martinez tallied three hits apiece to pace the Astros' 14 hit attack. Clint Barmes, who seems to enjoy punishing the team that traded him to Houston, belted his 12th homer of the season.
Houston jumped on Drew Pomeranz for five runs in the first inning and kept piling on like a team that is tired of the 100-loss jokes. The Astros scored in six of their eight at bats.
The lead was so great that Mills took Myers out early so Lance Pendleton, Juan Abreu and Jordan Lyles could each get an inning of live action.
J.A. Happ (6-15) will try to keep the momentum going Saturday night in a 6:05 Central contest. Jason Hammel (7-13) will be his mound opponent.
