It was Dog Day at Union Station when canines were welcome at the ballpark, but it was the Astros who wound up leashed and muzzled by Milwaukee starter Shaun Marcum, losing 4-0.

Marcum held the Astros to one hit over seven innings, fanning eight. Until Jordan Schafer hit a one-out single in the sixth to break up the no-hit bid, the only way the Astros had gotten on base was on an error and a walk.

Wandy Rodriguez turned in a quality start, allowing three runs on six hits, walking three and fanning eight, but when the other guy's posting zeroes you've got to be nearly perfect to keep your team in it.

Ryan Braun amd Jonathan Lucroy hit solo homers in the first and second innings, respectively. Wandy semi-intentionally walked Braun in the fifth to force in a run, then in the seventh Braun tagged relieved Enerio Del Rosario with an RBI single.

Next up, the Astros travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates. In Monday's opener, Henry Sosa (2-2, 4.34) takes the hill against the Bucs' James McDonald (8-7, 4.11) in a 12:35 p.m. CT contest.
