Gallardo: He pitches, he hits

Brett Myers had not lost to Milwaukee since 2002 but the Brewers belted four homers off him Tuesday to take a 7-5 verdict. Prince Fielder swatted a pair of long balls while batterymates Jonathan Lucroy and Yovani Gallardo hit the others to account for five of the Brewers' runs. Rickie Weeks also drove in a pair.

As with the night before, the Astros fell way behind early but, this time, they never caught up although they kept the pressure on the Brew Crew up until the last out. Michael Bourn drove in the first two Houston runs with a single and Lance Berkman plated him in the fifth to make it a 5-3 game. Pedro Feliz hit his third homer of the year to make it 6-4 an inning later.

In the ninth, down by three, Bourn singled with one out and swiped his second base of the game. Berkman doubled him home to cap a three-hit night but, after Carlos Lee walked, Hunter Pence rolled into a fielder's choice to end the game.

The Astros also announced that reliever Jeff Fulchino was going to the 15-day DL with tendinitis, the day after pitching a scoreless ninth while hitting the unofficial speed gun at 96 mph. Casey Daigle was recalled after being sent down less than two weeks ago.

The series finale will take place Wednesday afternoon in a 1:10 Central start with Wandy Rodriguez (4-10) looking to win his second straight as he squares off against Dave Bush (3-5). A Houston win would give them a break even month of 14-14.
