Jeter, Posada Bash Astros

Wandy: Lost weekend

Derek Jeter drilled two home runs and Jorge Posada blasted a grand slam as the Yankees bombed the Astros, 9-3, in the Bronx on Saturday. Hunter Pence and Carlos Lee smacked solo homers and Jeff Keppinger had an RBI double but it wasn't nearly enough to offset New York's muscle.

Wandy Rodriguez was clobbered for eight runs in five innings, including a five-run third that put the game out of reach early. Jeff Fulchino, Wesley Wright and Tim Byrdak mopped up.

Michael Bourn's pilot light seems to have gone out on this road trip. An 0-for-4 performance with two strikeouts lowered his batting average to .268. Lance Berkman also had an oh-fer to reduce his average to .237. The good vibes from Colorado appear to be evaporating quickly.

Brian Moehler (0-2) gets the last chance to salvage the weekend when he faces Phil Hughes (8-1) in a 12:05 Central contest on Sunday. After a day off on Monday, the Astros will travel to Kansas City for a final three-game stint before returning home on Friday.
