Houston's new left fielder gave his best impression of the old left fielder Monday night. While Carlos Lee rested comfortably in the hospital after surgery on his pinkie finger that will probably end his season, Ty Wigginton drove in all three Astros runs in a 3-1 victory.

Wigginton delivered a two-run single in the sixth that scored Humberto Quintero and Brandon Backe. Then he added a solo homer in the eighth to give closer Jose Valverde an insurance run.

The Astros were no-hit for the first five innings by Jonathan Sanchez who left with a tough-luck loss. Backe got the victory with seven strong innings of work. LaTroy Hawkins struck out two in his inning of work before Valverde notched his 29th save.

The win put the Astros back at .500 (59-59) for the first time in two months. It was their fifth straight victory and their 13th in their last 17 contests. Tuesday's matchup should be a pitcher's duel between Roy Oswalt (9-8) and Tim Linceum (12-3) in a 7:05 Central start.
